Aerial ropes course in Cap Jaseux consists of 73 suspended bridges which cross over 4 distinct areas. These bridges wind through a majestic pine wood forest from platform to platform within’ the trees. Each section is composed of a complete route with each its own challenges and surprises, but always respecting the capacities of each hiker.

Besides the magnificent forest which surrounds you throughout the whole excursion, you have the pleasure to sample the splendor of the Saguenay Fjord, because of a spectacular view from the top of your aerial ropes course. While on the aerial ropes course, you’re safety harness is always attached to a security cable. You are equipped with all the necessary equipment. Our professional and highly passionate guides will allow you to experience intense and unforgettable moments in total security.

Participation Requirements:

• You must be over 8 years of age and measure a minimum of 1m80, arms extended, from fingertips to toes.
• Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult (an adult can accompany a maximum of 3 young participants).
• Participants cannot be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Participants must be healthy.

Note:

Security warnings and a pre course trial will be given before your hébertism hike.

Bring firm shoes and sport clothes.

Have some sort of identification for borrowing equipment.

Be prepared for the aerial ropes course hike to last 3 hours.

8 years of age & up

This trail was created especially for small adventurers. The trail is similar to the regular trail, but is adapted to the younger clientele. This trail permits children to have fun going from one tree to the next all the while at their own rhythm and abilities.

Participation Requirements :

• Must measure a minimum 1m40 arms extended, from fingertips to toes.
• Adult supervision is obligatory.
• Be in good health.

Be Prepared :

Security warnings and a trial run-through will be given before your aerial ropes course hike.

Bring firm shoes and sport clothes.

Have some sort of identification for borrowing equipment.

Be prepared for the aerial ropes course hike to last 1 hour.

Nighttime aerial ropes course is only offered during the height of the tourist season and the hikes finish no later than 23:00 (respecting park closure guidelines).

There are only 20 places available for client 16 years and up.

Three different trail hikes are offered with the large “Tyrolienne” offered at the end of the hike. Yellow and black trails are closed.

Via Ferrata

”Via Ferrata” is Italian for ”Iron Way” and is a climbing route with permanently fixed cables for protection and metal ladder rungs to ease your movement over rock. The Via Ferrata is a new North American activity. You climb a vertical rock face overlooking the Fjord. The rock face is geared to your progression. It is a unique, fun and secure adventure. You are guaranteed to experience intense moments. Two new sections have been in use since 2006. Our team of professional guides is waiting for you. Participants 8 years and up must measure at least 1m50 , arms extended, from fingertips to toes and weigh a minimum of 45kg (100lbs). The view is spectacular view of the Saguenay. The “functioning” and equipment are similar to the aerial ropes course hikes, but you will be moving from one rock face to another instead of from tree to tree. You are accompanied by our certified and highly passionate guides.

We recommend athletic clothing and shoes (shoes must be firm). Avoid wearing sandals, jewellery and sunglasses. Long hair must be tied back.

Available everyday at the height of the tourist season and on week-ends during the off-season. Reservation is necessary. Length of activity: 2h30hrs – 3hrs

Kayak de mer

Cap Jaseux is an ideal area to become acquainted with sea kayaking in total security. The guide explains les basics of paddling and kayaking components. In three hours you have the chance to learn this new water activity, which is becoming more and more popular. The activity is available from 9:00 – 12:00 and from 13:30 – 16:30, everyday (height of tourist season).

“Fjordmidable” Day (14 years +)

Kayak solo

Experience an unforgettable day, discover the Fjord over a 20km distance. The guide and you will be part of the nautical and land wildlife as you contemplate the rock formations and the characteristics of the Fjord during a leisure activity. Arm yourself with a good lunch and a good pair of binoculars. Come and observe the beauty of the Cap au Leste lighthouse. The “Fjordmidable” excursion takes place between 9:30 – 16:30, everyday (during the height of tourist season).

Sunrise Excursion : 5 – 7 morning excursion (8 yrs +))

There is nothing more peaceful than observing nature waking up on a beautiful summer morning. Do this excursion with a guide who will lead you to the Fjord to hear the song of the loon; poetry to your ears. Be refreshed and rested: the departure time is at 4:30 in the morning and the trip lasts two hours. Your breakfast will increase your memory of this perfect outing. The Sunrise Excursion is available everyday (during the height of the tourist season). Complete payment for the activity must be paid the night before the excursion or at the time of reservation.

Twilight Excursion : 2 Hours of peace and admiration (8 yrs +))

Do you like Sunsets? If yes, we suggest the Twilight Excursion, where you will be guided on the Fjord at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset, hear the crickets waking up and witness other creatures of the night starting their nightly activities. At sunset, the waters are calm and you will have the chance to observe the Fjord as you have never seen it before. The moments around the campfire will take on more meaning after you get back from this evening excursion. The Twilight excursion takes place between 18:30 – 21:00 (variable hours), everyday (during the height of the tourist season).

Clients must arrive at the main entrance 45 minutes in advance in order to have time to get to the nautical pavilion. Cars must stay in the upper parking lot. Participants must be at least 8 yrs. of age. An adult must accompany juniors less than 14 years. (no junior alone).

Clients must bring :

• Appropriate clothing for the activity (shoes that can be worn in the water, swimsuit, outdoor clothing, windbreaker)
• Warm clothing (avoid jeans and cotton clothing), a change of clothes and shoes
• Hat, sunglasses, sun screen, mosquito repellent
• Beverage (water, juice) and snack (granola bar, fruit), in a waterproof bag
• Personal isothermal clothing (optional)

All our guided outings include kayaks and accessories, isothermal clothing, initiation, recovery techniques, an eco-interpretation guide and security equipment.

Voile

Excursion aboard a 25 foot quillard in the company of a knowledgeable captain who knows the Saguenay Fjord. A school cruise where you learn the basics of sailing. It is a fun and relaxing adventure. Participants need to be at least 8 yrs + (recommended or sailing experience is preferable). An adult must accompany juniors of 14 yrs and less.

Departures are from Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux. Sailing excursions are available from Wednesdays to Sundays at the height of the tourist season and on week-ends in the off-season. Reservations are necessary. Duration of the excursions depend on the type of trip.

Dress required :

• Shoes with a white sole (can be worn in water and are non-staining…no black marks)
• Appropriate clothing for the activity (swimsuit, outdoor clothing, windbreaker)
• Warm clothing (avoid jeans and cotton clothing), a change of clothing and shoes
• Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent
